Energy Superpower Enlists CompuCom to Improve Organizational Effectiveness and End-User Productivity

Operational excellence is a key priority for this client and CompuCom is 100 percent focused on delivering service performances that exceed their expectations.

One of the world’s leading integrated energy companies, this global company is involved in virtually every facet of the oil and gas industry, including exploring for, producing and transporting crude oil and natural gas; refining, marketing and distributing transportation fuels and lubricants; and manufacturing and selling petrochemical products. As one of the world’s six major superpower oil companies, this company has more than 64,000 employees that share a common objective – finding newer, cleaner ways to power the world.

While an early adopter of IT outsourcing, this energy superpower experienced limited success with a traditional end-to-end outsourcing model. The company decided to pursue a hybrid, out-tasking approach for workplace services, network and communication support. By first focusing its efforts on building a comprehensive IT strategy and service delivery approach, the energy company was well positioned to strategically out-‐task functions that a service delivery partner could perform more efficiently and cost-effectively.

To address their support requirements, this energy company turned to CompuCom and our leading End-User Enablement solutions. In addition to extensive industry experience, CompuCom’s flexible service delivery approach and ability to deliver significant cost savings were key differentiators.

CompuCom entered the relationship with a strong understanding of the energy company’s business culture and its specific business needs. By aligning our service delivery approach with the client’s strategic business objectives, CompuCom was able to help this energy company shift IT staff’s focus from routine IT support tasks to business-enabling programs. To better support the energy company, CompuCom established a dedicated Workplace Services team. Comprised of 130 skilled technicians, the Workplace Services team delivers IT support for the energy company’s 40,000 U.S.-based end users and services 45,000 devices.

Drawing from our Cloud Technology Services portfolio, CompuCom provides Converged Technology Operations and Network Services, delivering end-to-end incident monitoring and management services for the client’s global network. The energy company also looks to CompuCom to support their global communications network. In addition to managing the traditional communications network support, CompuCom supports radio frequency and microwave networks as well as satellite communications for oil field locations in production regions.

Operational excellence is a key priority for this client and CompuCom is 100 percent focused on delivering service performances that exceed their expectations. Throughout this 13 year partnership CompuCom has consistently met monthly service level agreements. And, our focus on continuous improvement has resulted in increased overall organizational effectiveness. Equally important, CompuCom has embraced the client’s safety culture, ensuring every team member makes safety a daily priority. As a result, the client has recognized CompuCom for four years running for safety compliance.
